The Amazing City of Tokyo – Things to Do & Travel Guide
Tokyo is debatably one of the most popular cities for tourists and locals alike. It’s also one of the most coveted. With a soul that never sleeps, it’s not hard to see why it would climb several peoples’ lists. I was excited about visiting Tokyo but I didn’t think I would like it as much as I did. It’s probably my favourite place in Japan!

Tokyo’s History
Tokyo actually doesn’t have much ancient history, like say its predecessor Kyoto does. Tokyo, formerly called Edo, was fortified in the 1100s and Edo Castle was built circa 1457 (at the site of … Continue reading

Down in New Orleans: Things to Do & Travel Guide
I was so excited to go to New Orleans because it’s a city known for so many things: jazz, Voodoo, Mardi Gras, Cajun food, a strong international heritage. There’s a lot of culture unique to Louisiana and I was determined to learn more about this wonderful heritage through a visit there directly. With several friends doting on the wonderful time they had there, I went and it was a fantastic time.

The History of New Orleans
The site of New Orleans was explored by Native Americans and several colonists of France and Spain, but it was ultimately established as a … Continue reading Posted on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in DestinationsTags: louisiana, new orleans, north america, united states

7 Charming Towns on Maryland’s Eastern Shore
Maryland’s Eastern Shore is really charming. It’s also an underrated destination since nearby places like Washington DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis shadow its neighbours across the bay. While many flock to Ocean City, there are several smaller places in Maryland that are overlooked. Here’s a list of a few that I felt were very cute.

Some tips for travelling in Eastern Maryland:
- Many places have “headlights always on” laws so it’s best to have your headlights always on.
- Bring bug spray!
- Some places have Amish communities who use horse and buggies to travel around, so watch out for that.
- A lot

31+ Things to Do in Seville
Seville is one of Spain’s most beautiful and popular cities, attracting tourists from around the world. This gem deserves a lot of time, and to fill it, Seville offers a great selection of activities for visitors.
Places to See
Marvel at the Plaza de Espana.

Alright, I have to admit that I didn’t think this place looked so great in photographs. But it’s a must-see in Seville, so I went. It is unbelievably beautiful in person. The size and grandeur of the plaza is absolutely incredible, but its real beauty is in the details. There is significant and stunning tile … Continue reading

The White Village of Ronda – Things to Do & Travel Guide
Ronda is a small town in Andalusia and it’s a popular spot for tourists, especially because of its super tall bridge that transcends a deep valley. I opted to go here as part of a day trip but I have to be honest; the blog posts I found made it sound like there wasn’t much to do in this small town. When I got there as part of an organised trip, we were given a good walking tour and a little over an hour to explore. That was not nearly enough time. The town actually has a large number of … Continue reading

The Majestic Alhambra & Granada: Things to Do & Travel Guide
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Alhambra in Granada is often deemed one of the must-sees of southern Spain. It’s an architectural splendor with very well preserved palaces and gardens. It’s the most visited monument in Spain and is very well deserving of the title. Even though I was excited to see this gem, it absolutely blew away my expectations in person.

Please note that this sells out months in advance so you will need to book your ticket ahead of time.
The Alhambra
Andalusia’s history revolves around its many kingdoms and the changes that occurred over time. The Nasrid … Continue reading

The Silesian City of Wroclaw – Things to Do & Travel Guide
Wroclaw is a small city in southwest Poland, and like several Polish cities, its stunning architecture is the main draw for tourists. (Helpful tip: it’s pronounced VROTS-WOV) I too had to see this city for myself, and it was much bigger than I’d expected.
Something fun: My great-grandmother came from a small Silesian town near Wroclaw. She was a Polish Jew who married a Catholic Irishman – in the 1920s. How progressive is that?
That’s on my mother’s side. What’s funny is that earlier ancestors on my father’s side came from the same area of Silesia! Small world. I … Continue reading

Things to Know about Mardi Gras before ANY New Orleans Trip
If you’ve taken a French class in the U.S.A., you’ve probably heard of Mardi Gras. It’s most known for being a celebration of “fat Tuesday,” the day before Lent starts, and it’s popularly celebrated in New Orleans. As I took French throughout school and participated in French club in college, I did the King Cake every year and would tell others that there’s a crazy festival down in New Orleans each year to celebrate the day. I went to New Orleans in January because I wanted to avoid the Mardi Gras festivities, as it’s just not really my thing.Everything … Continue reading

A Louisiana Swamp Tour with Cajun Encounters
When I was in New Orleans, I opted to take a day trip on a Louisiana swamp tour, because who wouldn’t? I wanted to see what life was like down in the Bayou and what kind of wildlife they had, and of course, gators.

There are many companies to choose from, but I went with Cajun Encounters. They are located north of New Orleans, in a town called Slidell. They and several other swamp tour companies offer convenient pick-up from your hotel or a specified location in New Orleans so you don’t have to drive. It usually doubles the … Continue reading

Experiencing AIRE Ancient Baths in Seville
Having a lot of Middle Eastern influences, Andalusian cities have several Turkish baths which you can go to. I like to treat myself to an expensive experience here and there so I decided that a bath and massage would be a great thing to splurge on. Also, people have taken Turkish baths for hundreds of years, so it was also like a cultural experience.
I chose to go to AIRE Ancient Baths in Seville as I was based in that city. So what was the experience like?
First off, all of AIRE’s locations (they do have one in NYC and … Continue reading
